Today is my daughters birthday and I'm not around to celebrate it..., Happy birthday Anna.
The long gap in posts is all good. We fixed the dingy, it has been holding air for a week now, but when we went back to the marina to access wifi before we left, the signal was down and I couldn't post anything. We left the next morning for Hoffman Cay, a really remote uninhabited area in the Berrys. It was beautiful!!! All sorts of cool little islands, with beaches and unique limestone formations, the pictures barely do it justice. I could see spending a couple of weeks exploring here. I have been trying my hand at fishing, both trolling and hanging a lure from the side of the boat. ......... nothing. We've been eating canned chicken and sausage, with a whole ocean around us. I am going to figure this fishing thing out.
Yesterday we went to a "blue hole" in the middle of Hoffman Cay. It's a deep round hole full of salt water surrounded by limestone caves and is so deep the water looks black. Both Michael and I took a short swim in it. The water is a little cold still for us to really enjoy swimming, Daytime highs have been around 80 degrees with a brisk breeze, but we have left winter behind. Quilts that we we needed for sleeping a few weeks ago have been rolled up and tucked out of the way.
Today we left Hoffman Cay for Frazier Hog Cay to give us access to the internet. It was sad leaving that pristine setting behind. Maybe we shouldn't promise internet access in the future. I really enjoy the uninhabited remoteness the best. Our next stop will probably be Nassua, which is surely not remote.
these pictures say it all.
So glad you are having fun. I would love it there!
